Home Care Aide Certification: April 6 to May 5, 2024

We are only accepting 20 students per class.

Our training comprises the following,

  1. Two (2) hours of Orientation Training regarding his/her role as a Caregiver and the applicable terms of employment.
  2. Three(3) hours of Safety Training that includes basic safety precautions, emergency procedures and infection control.
  3. Thirty eight (38) hours of Core Basic Training.
  4. Eight (8) hours of Dementia Training.
  5. Eight (8) hours of Mental Health Training.

Total training hours: Seventy Five (75)

Mock test will be given to the students to pick three (3) skills randomly  and be able to perform them according to the standards provided by Department of Social and Health Services.

CERTIFICATE of completion will be given after the training class.


  • Module 1-11 of the New Edition of Fundamentals of Caregiving
  • Quizzes  Module Review 
  • Final Exam  
  • Skills Mock Test (3 skills to perform based on DSHS Skills Checklist)

Classroom Requirements

  1. You will be asked to create your account from CANVAS which will be used as our main classroom and will have access to all the information of the training including lectures, videos, quizzes and exams.
  2. There will be an orientation of how to use and navigate each dashboard on CANVAS before the start of the class. CANVAS instructions will also be emailed for added information.
  3. Since this is a HYBRID class, you will be invited to the ZOOM meeting for class learning interaction which is embedded on the ANNOUNCEMENT page once you log in to your CANVAS account. Make sure you have a good Wi-Fi connection to avoid any interruption.


The following are required and payable in the State of Washington:

  1. Complete the Home Care Aide certification application process (Department of Health) $85 fee
  2. Apply for the knowledge and skills examination (Prometric) $137 fee
